Description of the distribution classifications
In addition to distributing Thrane & Thrane products, a distributor, a partner or a reseller is the first line of contact for any support, including user training, activation and commissioning, upgrades, PIN codes, accessories, applications, repairs and spare part.
Master Distributor
A Master Distributor is required to carry stock at all times, sells Thrane & Thrane products exclusively through their distribution network consisting of Thrane & Thrane Registered Resellers and buys directly from Thrane & Thrane.
Certified Partner
A Certified Partner does not necessarily carry stock at all times, distributes Thrane & Thrane products to End-Users and buys directly from Thrane & Thrane.
Registered Reseller
A Registered Reseller sells Thrane & Thrane products directly to End-Users and buys from one of Thrane & Thrane Master Distributors. A Registered Reseller Plus (RR+) has access to support and spare parts directly from Thrane & Thrane via eSupport and eShop only.
Description of the service centers
On Board Service Center (OSC)
An On Board Service Center services maritime equipment that has been manufactured by Thrane & Thrane, SAILOR, SKANTI and Nera Satcom, regardless of actual label, on board the vessel. An OSC is authorized to carry out Thrane & Thrane warranty repairs.
OSC requirements:
- Spare parts required to be able to do service
- Trained and experienced techs
- 24 hour call notice
Your distributor, partner or reseller will usually coordinate services – warranty as well as ordinary services - with OSC if it is not able to carry out the service/repair itself.
Regional Workshop (RWS)
Supplementing the distributor network and ensuring efficient and prompt repair services as an important part of the service program is the Thrane & Thrane Regional Workshops. A Regional Workshop performs certain repairs on behalf of Thrane & Thrane in their well equipped workshops including spare parts as well as factory trained technicians available at all times.
